  • RENTAL RATE DOES NOT INCLUDE FILTERS.....THERE IS ADDITIONAL COST FOR PRICE OF FILTERS
  • ABC EQUIPMENT RENTAL HAS MUCH MORE INFORMATION AVAILABLE ABOUT THE USE OF THE AIR SCRUBBER/NEGATIVE AIR MACHINE. PLEASE ASK ANY ABC TEAM MEMBER OR CALL DRIEAZ AT 1-800-932-3030 or: www.legendbrands.com & enter: F284 in search which will allow you to select Hepa 500 Air...which has info book & videos.
  • Get high efficiency air filtration and great versatility in a highly portable package. The DefendAir HEPA 500 combines advanced air scrubbing performance with the features and functions that help to make the restorer s job easier, faster, and more profitable.
  • The DefendAir HEPA 500 uses HEPA filter media with an efficiency rating of 99.97% against 0.3-micron oily aerosol particles. When used with the DOP 2nd stage filter, the HEPA 500 meets first-pass filtration requirements for sensitive jobs. The optional Activated Carbon Filter allows users to quickly and effectively attack smoke and other noxious odors in the environment. See all HEPA 500 filtration options here.
  • FORMULA...................FORMULA....................FORMULA READ BELOW
  • -FORMULAMAY VARY DEPENDING ON USING AS AN AIR SCRUBBER VS. NEGATIVE AIR MACHINE
  • -FORMULA TO DETERMINE HOW MANY MACHINES ARE NEED.....BY CFM...EACH MACHINE HAS A 500CFM MAX
  • -READ INSTRUCTION FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
  • -"ACH" STAND FOR AIR CHANGES PER HOUR
  • As a general rule you should achieve a minimum of 6 ACH.
  • This means that an air scrubber must complete six air
  • changes every hour, or one every 10 minutes. If you can
  • increase the ACH, do so.
  • You can determine the CFM needed to achieve 6 ACH
  • with a simple 3-step formula:
  • 1. Calculate the room's volume in cubic feet. To do
  • this, multiply the square footage by the ceiling
  • height. In the example above, the floor has an
  • area of 500 square feet (multiple length by width)
  • and 8-foot ceilings.
  • EXAMPLE: 500 x 8 = 4,000 cubic feet of volume.
  • 2. Multiply the room's volume (in cubic feet) by 6
  • to find the total cubic feet of filtration needed
  • per hour
  • EXAMPLE: 4,000 cubic feet x 6 = 24,000 cubic feet per hour
  • 3. Divide the total cubic feet per hour by 60 to
  • convert to cubic feet per minute (CFM)
  • EXAMPLE: 24,000 cubic feet per hour / 60 minutes = 400 CFM
  • You can see that you would need an air scrubber with 400
  • CFM to maintain 6 ACH in a 4,000 cubic foot space. You can
  • apply this formula to any closed environment and determine
  • the CFM required to achieve 6 ACH.

  • -Designed for Restoration
  • The HEPA 500 is ideal for handling indoor air quality needs on every restoration job. Restoration that involves sewage, mold, or fire damage involves significant amounts of particulates and bad-smelling gasses a direct result of the damage itself. In a water damage restoration environment, the high-velocity airflow needed for drying can stir up particulates that have settled in carpet or on other materials. The HEPA 500 addresses these air-quality issues quickly and effectively, helping you to maintain a clean, odor-free indoor environment for your technicians and your customers.

  • -Filter descriptions
  • 1st Stage Pre-Filter (F270). Synthetic fiber filter media rated at 10% efficiency. Captures the largest particles to help extend the life of the higher efficiency filters inside.
  • 2nd Stage Pre-Filter (F271). Synthetic fiber filter media rated at 30% efficiency. Captures larger particles to help extend the life of the HEPA filter.
  • DOP Stage 2 Pre-Filter (F415). Use of the DOP filter ensures laboratory-rated performance for sensitive jobs requiring first-pass HEPA filtration.
  • Activated Carbon Filter (F397). The activated carbon filter allows the removal of a wide variety of compounds, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), food odors, fumes from paint and paint thinners, sewer odors, and many other noxious odors. Combining activated carbon filtration with HEPA filtration is especially effective in removing airborne soot particles and the odors they create.
  • HEPA filter (F321). The HEPA filter has an efficiency rating of 99.97% against 0.3 micron oily aerosol particles. The HEPA filtration standard was developed in the 1940s to control radioactive dust particles in U.S. nuclear laboratories.
